Morgenwerk: Making a web app responsive

This was a project for Morgenwerk.nl, an online job agency that wanted to improve their online job application platform by making it fully responsive (mobile friendly).

A lot of work was put into reflowing the content on mobile devices so that phones also become a first-class citizen for the platform.

Morgenwerk’s web app is coded in Ruby, Haml and uses Bootstrap 3 so I learned how to use these effectively. I also learned a lot about Bootstrap 4 and cherry-picked features from it to put into the website.

Everything in the sidebar is collapsed on mobile phones.

A custom date picker that focuses on parts of the day in an entire week.

An all-new WordPress website made for professional marriage photographer Patricia Bollen. Responsive design with a focus on simplicity and usability. Basic SEO techniques and page speed optimizations have been applied while staying relevant to actual visitors (so no meaningless fluff).

Webcomic reader (PHP/jQuery) (2015)

A webcomic reader for manga.telefang.net, heavily utilizing JavaScript to navigate through the pages. Responsive, and includes some customization options (like a reversed manga mode).

It utilizes some GPL 2.0-licensed PHP code to read images in a directory, but is otherwise all coded by me.

Creative Industries: wireframe public website

In college, the entire class had been tasked to create a public-facing website for the specialization we were doing (which was Creative Industries). After the ideation process, where many ideas were thrown around and refined, we had a general idea of what the website was going to feature. I took the task to create wireframes for this new website and implemented any feedback given back to me.

The wireframes were designed responsively: I created website, mobile and tablet views.

The website ended up implementing what was shown on the wireframes quite nicely.
